Seismicity Patterns

Distinct shallow and deep seismicity clusters are triggered by hydraulic fracturing in the Changning shale gas field, China. The deep transient seismicity is triggered immediately by hydraulic fracturing and has hightened potential for large induced earqthuakes. The shallow lingering seismicity persists for over a year after hydraulic fracturing and may indicate long-lived aseismic deformation
